Rising Water Levels

Over the course of the weekend and following Monday the rains brought to the area overwhelming flood levels. Homes, businesses, and schools were evacuated by NC National Guard members throughout the storm. Water levels grew as high as a one story building in most areas. The flood had an effect on most every aspect of the area whether mundane or supernatural. What follows are a few of the examples(not all of these are IC use common sense):

-Nestled between Kings Mountain and Crowders Mountain the Sept of the Hidden Heart prepares living space for the displaced Kinfolk the storm has left stranded. Garou workers under the supervision of Sept Alpha Michael Anubis work tirelessly to set up makeshift shelters that will survive the storm.

-At a suddenly abandoned Holiday Inn refugees from a few womens shelters, halfway houses, homeless shelters, clinics, and safe homes enjoy a few nights of safety from the weather and the streets...and max out the credit card of the one who gave them the rooms.

-In downtown Charlotte rescue crews work around the clock looking for anyone stranded during the flooding. Along with the National Guard the American Red Cross shows up to offer aid. Property damage is extensive though it is uncertain how many lives were lost.

-In an obscure underground hidey hole a tiger, a lion, and a rat sleep peacefully through the rain.

-At The Magic Box nightclub only four people remain awake. Jefferson, Poe, Thompson, and Proud Deer. As the rest of their people lie exhausted from extensive rituals they sit in a corner booth and discuss the rebuilding of the city.

-In a cooling unit located on the 3rd floor of the IX Building a metallic wolf remains in stasis until it is needed once more. The chaos of the outside world concerns it not, it lives only to obey.

-The bridge construction of the 485 loop over I-85 breaks under the rising water pressure. The debris floats loose and traps a young boy against a building a few miles later in lower Charlotte. The boy later tells reporters that a nice lady helped to free him then ran off to help other peoples. Despite her noble bearing the only thing the boy know about the lady is that her name was "Charlotte" and she seemed to be very sad.

-On the 11th parking deck floor of the Charlotte Hilton and towers a General sleeps. Underneath him a tired hillybilly makes adjustments to his system to keep him running.

-At the Sept of Thunders Might a one armed warrior rowes around in circles in a row boat. Content that his new charge is safe he takes a nap.

-In the Umbral representation of downtown Charlotte flood waters are 3 stories high. The spiritual manisfestation of the city is definately water logged as even the largest Net Spiders skulk at the very top of the skyscrapers afraid to go to close to the bottom. A large sea serpent prowls these depths. Reaching the length of 4 school buses the massive beast searches the effects of it's handiwork with a proud smile on it's face.

-In the woods of the Kings Mountain Battleground campers are nowhere to be seen. Even park rangers are bundled up tight indoors waiting out the storm as a feeling of dread represents going outside. In the Umbra of the woods a large timber wolf the size of a Sherman tank hunts the woods for signs of his brother. It's been a long time since he's been to this area but now that he's found children he'll hunt these woods again.

-The sewers of the city are the last place to be right now but that's just where one unlucky soul is. Needing not the convienance of air he walks around the bottom of the lair of his people and makes sure the flood isn't going to slow down their return.

-Inside the little known pub Seamus' Bar and Grill a group of children and adolescents huddle together and try to catch the leaks in pots and pans. Their radio tells them flood waters will receed within the next few days. Until then it'll be nervous goings.

-Finally at the Moose Jaw Cemetary in Belmont a group of businessmen and women gather around an old masoleum as an old man in a hood and cowl tells them of unexpected visitors recieved. The dark eyed and olive skinned leader of the group smiles.

An Announcement

This Message Arrived to both Caerns via an unknown Silent Strider.

"Hello my name is Duncan McFiefe formerly of the Fianna Tribe. I say 'formerly' because I am an outcast, a Ronin. I need not go into the details of my banishment but I will say I now wish to reside in the Charlotte area. As a token of my good will towards the current Garou guardians of the city I have purchased and re-furnished the burnt down nightclub Methos in downtown Charlotte. The purpose of this is to act as a 'neutral area' that members of both septs can meet in comfortably."

Uncle Joey Wants you!

The following is sent out to Septs all up and down the East Coast(including the Sept of the Hidden Heart) via messengers of the Sept of Thunders Might.

Hello from the newly founded Sept of Thunders Might in North Carolina. Recently we've fought a great battle and lost many good Garou building our Level 2 Caern of Courage. And right now we're looking for enterprising Garou to help us populate and defend it. With the aid of our fellow Garou and our patron Totem, Great Thunder, we feel sure we can make our Caern a key strategic location in the battle against the Wyrms forces in our area. However our numbers are small and we need Garou to help us fill some of our Caern positions such as Master of Challenges, Master of Rites, Den Mother/Father, and such. We're a non-discriminating Caern more than willing to take on Metis and other so called "undesirables" looking to get a fair shake out of life. If interested please send word back with the messenger who delivered this to your Sept so we'll know to expect you.
