Mortal Combat

Tomorrow The Sept of the Hidden Heart shall appoint a new Caern Warder. The position is to be filled by the most strongest one there is. As the Children of Gaia and original members of the Sept have all decided to devote their time fully to maintaining spirit conections to the Caern and handling Kinfolk affairs the new Warder must come from our newest arrivals despite their rather low rank. Thus it has been decided that in order to ensure the strongest of the new arrivals gets the job a tournament shall be held.

The tournament shall be single elimination and as an added stipulation the Master of Challenges, Joey "Gives a Damn" Wallace as decreed that the battles shall be "No Disqualification" thus allowing weapons, Gifts, and Fetish in battle. Two rules however shall be strictly enforced: The battles must be One on One, and combatants must honor the Litany in case of an honorable surrender.

This contest is open to all. However by default of their birth moon all Ahroun are automatically entered. All combatants also must have someone to act as healer for them after the battle.

Rats in the Caern...

The rats the Caern are starting to act weird now. They are starting to eat at any stored up food they can find. They go by any statue and healing pool and use the bathroom on them.

Tuesday, August 20^th, 2002 In the news...

First off I want to say that the last game was hard on the two STs and I want to thank all the players for coming out and the great roleplaying I heard about. Now on to IC things.......

In the news there have been sink holes popping up in Charlotte and Hickory. The biggest one is in Hickory and it started out by swallowing a 2001 Chevrolet. The police of Hickory say the hole seems to have no bottom. Two have popped up in Charlotte. The city council is keeping a close eye on the holes and have called in the Army guard to secure the sites.

For the ones that stay at the Cearn you have been seeing the shadows of things pointing in the wrong direction (i.e. shadows do not appear opposite the source of light as they should) and the Stasgazer (John Beills) has turned up missing. Cybor is doing some tests on the Caern to see what this is. And a letter was posted at each moon gate for all werewolfs to read. It was from the Old Coot.

"Young'uns you are messing up the air in the Caern so as of this point you bring nothing into or take anything out. I am very upset with all of you and will be talking to Anubis to see what I can do to bring back some law around here seeings how none of you are listening to Gives A Shit. He is the warder and he is higher rank than ya'll. I am very disappointed..."

Gathering for the Departed

We shall be holding a Gathering for the Departed ritual in two weeks to honor the lives and mourn the deaths of the two most recent of our fellows to die in service to Gaia.

Laylah Thunderchilde of the Bone Gnawers and Leif Norseman of the Get of Fenris shall be laid to rest and returned to Gaia's bussom.

Bob: Good evening and thanks for tuning in. We start tonight off with our top story. We take you now to Barbara Jones. Barbara.
Barbara: Thanks Bob, I'm here tonight at the UNCC campus where you can see behind me (points to a sealdd off area) the latest in a vast bombing spree has pulled in the Army National Guard. I was able to talk with a Cpt. Williams of the 506th. He told me that thay can confrim that this is not linked to the war on terrorism. They fell that this is some pro-plant corp because the lab that was blown up was doing research on plant life.
They do have leads on the leader of the group that did this and are working with the state and local police to find this person so they can bring an end to these bombings.
BOB: Well thanks for the update Barbara. Now we go to Sandi Burk out at Charlotte-Douglas Internation Airport. Sandi?
Sandi: Right Bob, I am standing outside this gate (points) at the airport where two National Guardsmen lost there lives when a genarator blew up while the men were working on it. The National Guard has not released the names of the men yet.
Bob: Sandi, why are they out there?
Sandi: Well Bob they are conducting ATT tranning getting ready for deployment in the coming weeks......
(in the back ground every one watching can see a chopper take off. It has the playing cards on the front of the chopper)

A Letter

All PCs recieve this letter the next time them enter the Cearn from either Lief Norseman of one of his kinfolk.

Tribesman,
I write those of you that are new to this Cearn in an attempt that we can get together on the night on the 22nd of June. I do this for the last time we gathered it was not on the most pleasaent of terms.

Caern Guards

During the Course of the the week of June 2-8 people in the Cearn would notice that The Guards in the Golden Chest plates have been coming off as a lot stricter and that they have been maikng sure that The Silver guards are working at their posts a little more than they have been in the past.
